Subroto Paul: Painter

Subrata Paul achieved DVA in sculpture from AFA, Kolkata in 1998. He is a young dynamic sculptor, who always explores the hidden territory of visual forms in this own comprehension.
Drawing and painting has been a major part of Subrata’s life since childhood. At the age of 5, he was interested in three dimensional drawings and model making. Later he got interested in making goddess, human and animal figures in various form to explore human forms and their relation with nature.
His sculptures are conjured upon the complexities of nature and human relationship.
He was awarded the Best Sculptor Award in 71st All India Exhibition at AFA, Kolkata and two times certificate of merit from information Centre Kolkata.

Experimental sculptor Subrata Paul explores human- nature dynamics, expressing happiness and romance through playful creations featuring his signature material fusion and stitching technique. He earned a DVA in sculpture from AFA, Kolkata (1998) and has received numerous awards, including All India Best Sculpture Awards from Kolkata’s Academy of Fine
Arts (2006) and AIFACS, New Delhi (2019), and participated in Biennale 2023. His works are found in collections like Birla Academy of Art & Culture and Hotel Lalit, as well as numerous private collections across India and internationally, including Dubai, Texas, and London.
